Business economist Sabine Schneider from Ravensburg in Württemberg was an enthusiastic athlete until January 2013, especially an active judo fighter. Then she injured herself in a judo match. The result: initially severe pain in the right thigh, after four months acute deterioration. The pulling pain in the leg extended to the sole of the foot, which constantly tingled - herniated disc in the lower area of the lumbar spine L5/S1. Any physical activity was out of the question. This was followed by seven months of torture with infusions and cortisone, physio. It got little better. Bending and sitting in particular caused unbearable pain.
