Sex after a back or disc surgery

Many of our patients ask us about back-friendly sexual behavior. The most common questions are:

  • When

or/and

  • How

can I be intimate with my partner again? Here is some information that can be a suggestion as to how sexual togetherness can be beautiful and satisfying after back and/or disc surgery.

Basically, cautious sexual activities can be started as early as the first week after the operation . Only make gentle movements. In principle, however, the following applies: the operated person (woman / man) should take on a more passive role in the first 4 weeks.

Below are some back-friendly positions that can be used.

It is important to distinguish whether the woman or the man was operated!

Also note that if the intimate gathering causes discomfort, wait and try again later.

As a general rule, practices that cause you to tense up your body and strain it too much should be avoided .

A loose movement of the pelvis can even be seen as preventive gymnastics against back problems, a gentle lovemaking can be one of the best forms of relaxation.
